Zero menstruation related inconveniences for all girls
To provide affordable menstrual health products and services to girls in Uganda
Our Story
Alpha Girl Care Uganda is a non-profit organisation that was born out of a desire shared by three friends to ensure that menstruation, which is a normal and healthy part of womanhood, did not disrupt any girl’s life or change the way she viewed herself.
Due to lack of access to affordable quality menstrual health products (like sanitary towels) and services (like reproductive health trainings), many girls in Uganda have been forced to drop out of school while others have lost their self-esteem.
In 2016, together with their friend and partner, Diane Garbo, the trio—Ann Semakula, Suzanie Nabende and Christine Lutwama—launched Alpha Girl Care Uganda and to-date have provided affordable menstrual health products and services to over 25,000 girls in Uganda.
Our goal is to reach 50,000 vulnerable girls with our menstrual products and services each year.
